Piopiotahi: The Eighth Wonder of the World

Tuesday February 7th | Manapouri 🌞 – Milford Sound 🚢 – Queenstown ⛺️ | 458km 🚙

The weather today was the polar opposite of Monday.  We made the two hour drive up to Milford Sound which is possibly the most beautiful place on earth.  We did a Southern Discoveries cruise which also included a visit to the discovery centre and underwater observatory. Milford Sound is actually a fiord since it was created by a glacier; sounds are created by rivers.  After the half day cruise we made our way in to Queenstown where we camped for the night.  Since a picture speaks a thousand words, here’s a few from our day.

Mitre Peak behind some wispy clouds. 1692 meters high
